How strict are the hotels about check in time?

hotels
what’s the point asked:

One of the hotels is having a special where you can get a complimentary upgrade to a suite (based on availability).
They say their check in is at 3p. If i show up at 3p, i’ll have to wait till 3?
DUH, i meant if i show up around noon or so, would i have to wait?

I go to Vegas about once or twice a month and they always say check in is at noon but I awlays arrive at about 9 a.m. If the room is empty and it has been cleaned then you shouldnt have a problem checking in early. Also, you can ask for a late check on the day you are suppose to leave and you can usually stay about 2 hours longer.

if they have a room avaiable and you get there early before check in most will let you have a room
if not check you luggage and come back when thta ask you to sometimes they will say they will have rooms availble in a hour so
    depending where your staying ..

You can check in early if the room has been cleaned and/or vacant. Otherwise, it is customary that rooms are not available until 3pm. Most people check out around Noon or 1pm, and you have to allow the housekeeping staff sufficient time to clean the rooms.

What I would do is attempt to check in at noon, and when you do, ask about the complimentary upgrade.

If they tell you a suite is not available at this time. I would ask about the possibility of a suite opening up later in the day.

Tell him/her you would be willing to wait. If you would really like to have the suite, that is.

If you can be flexible and work with them, they tend to be more accommodating.

You should call and ask about the details for the special first. That way you will know exactly what to do. Most hotels are pretty lax on their check-in times. If they have the room ready, you can check-in early without problems.

It depends. If the room is available at noon, they’ll let you check in at noon. I’ve always called the week before I’m due in and let them know I’ll be arriving at a certain time and ask about early check in. Most of the time they tell me they can’t promise – it’s based on if the room has been vacated and cleaned by then – but they tell me to try it. I’ve yet to be denied.
