Sorry, my 2nd question. I know other hotels are good/bad for tables, food. But now for the actual rooms/service etc. Also if you know whats best for the buffet, in case we are hungry lol.
My mother is coming from England, and I would like others opinion on the hotel to stay in? I know that the Borgata is best, but the location I am looking is the Boardwalk…. do you have any advice or opinions. The good thing is that it is midweek stay so the rates are cheaper. Also if you know were to get good rates, please let me know, thanks !!!

Wow, I was just going to type The Borgata, but you don’t want to be in the Marina area huh? I’ve been to The Borgata and I thought their hotel was the best. The food (Borgata Buffet) is also DELICIOUS with a wonderful variety of cuisine to choose from. They’re also expanding and adding on to their hotel, I think there are several new restaurants open now. There is a shuttle that you can take from the Borgata (I think it was $1.50 to ride). If not, I heard that Ceasar’s Palace has nice rooms (that one’s on the Boardwalk). Good rates are not all that easy to find unless you’re a member and you have discounts or free stays. Holiday Inn is right on the Boardwalk and they weren’t all that expensive, but their rooms are no frill.
Hope this helps!
Well you are right of course. The Borgata is clearly in a different league to every other casino out there. Caesars is very nice if you want upscale. But you are also asking for cheaper rates, and clearly the upscale ones have the worst rates.
When I stayed there earlier this year I stayed at the Sands. We found the table limits good, the casino was clean, the staff were great, and the rates were outstanding. You can take a sky walk to about four different casinos (including Caesars) without even stepping outside. If you do go to the Stands, give their Italian restaurant a miss, it is mediocre at best. Their buffet is pretty reasonable. Thanks to the sky walks, if you decide you don’t like the Sands too much for eating or playing, you are only a pleasant 5-10 minute inside walk to the other casinos. I would certainly stay there again, without hesitation.
I suggest you go to Expedia.com and read the customer reviews. The reviews are from people who have actually stayed at the hotels so they are usually pretty interesting.
the three boardwalk casinos owned by Harrah’s – Showboat, Bally’s and Caesars – all have decent rooms (many newly renovated just this year) and good gambling conditions. you can also earn and share comps between all the numerous properties owned by the corporation nationwide.
both Showboat’s French Quarter and Bally’s/Wild West’s Virgina City Buffets have been voted “Best in AC” in various magazine polls in the past.
the Sands is a great gambling value but they have just been bought out and will be closing down around November 2006. so just make sure the hotel is still open for when your mum plans to visit, if you choose there.
