I am traveling to Edinburgh on wednesday and I am looking for a hotel to stay in with my two teenage daughters, in the city centre, clean and tidy, reasonably priced, and at least 3 stars?

Try the Apex Hotel in the Grassmarket. There are two to choose from, the Apex International and the Apex European.
Its just a short walk to The Castle and Princes Street. Nice 4* Hotels with good restaurants and reasonably priced.

The BEST hotel to stay in in Edinburgh is The Glasshouse.

Floor-to-ceiling windows, beds so big you’ll slumber sweet, the crispest Egyptian cotton bed linen, baths built to soak in long and deep…
A lavender-scented roof garden, acres of sun-splashed patios and cool, shady verandas, eat and drink wherever you like…

Service to your room day and night, shoes shined to a polished conker gleam, whiskies imbued with the character of their Highland home…

You might be forgiven for assuming such a place must be a figment of your imagination. But behind the façade of the 150 year old Lady Glenorchy church, you’ll find the clean, modern lines of The Glasshouse – a 5 star boutique hotel, but not as you know it.

Voted by Conde Nast Traveller as one of the top 50 hottest hotels in the world. Winner of the ‘Most Stylish Hotel’ by the Scottish Style Awards. Winner ‘Most Sexiest Hotel in Scotland’ by Hotel Review Scotland. Awarded five star status by VisitScotland. Voted as ‘in top 1%’ of all Expedia listed hotels, globally.

If you are planning to stay regularly at The Glasshouse Edinburgh, it may be more economical for you to open a Corporate Account.

Yeah the Glasshouse is the coolest. The Balmoral and the Scotsman are the most exclusive, however I recommend the Barcelo Carlton, very nice hotel situated idealy between Princes St and the Royal Mile. Ideal for sightseeing

city centre hotels are generally more expensive and usually don’t have parking included…..not sure if this is an issue….

the balmoral is lovely but pricey…but worth it if you want to treat yourself!

the last few times i’ve been to edinburgh i’ve stayed at the holiday inn on corstophine road (near the zoo)…..the price is good plus they have a pool which is a nice treat when travelling!….they have free parking and the buses run regularly to the town centre which takes about 20 minutes or so……

have you looked at?…they usually have some good deals…..also, travel lodge regularly do sales on their rooms….you might find something in the city centre which fits your budget…..their rooms are clean and well presented…..

    good luck!!

hope you enjoy your trip to edinburgh – it’s a great city especially the old town!!

and if you fancy some good italian food at reasonable prices, check out gordon’s trattoria on the high street!
